Joke: I was searching for someone who could view the whole picture, which for me means looking further than singing as such. I found that person in Petrie. Sometimes the lessons focused on singing, sometimes on other aspects of myself. The exercises, which often include movement as well as voice, are real eye-openers as regards tension/relaxation, stress and awareness, so I can continue applying what I’ve learnt long after the lessons. What singing lessons can lead to! Thank you so far.
Els: Petrie concentrates on the individual and her lessons are based on this, which is excellent. She can spot any faults/imperfections straight away, and has a range of exercises to tackle these. I learnt especially about the many (body) techniques for improving breathing and how important it is to stay relaxed – which she has many pleasant and effective exercises for. She is a very enthusiastic teacher and this helped me to overcome a number of obstacles.
Bart: What I like about Petrie’s lessons is that they’re tailored to the individual. She focuses on the person, and knows which exercises are needed in my particular case.
Karin: Petrie can highlight problems and solutions with her evocative language skills. And the atmosphere stays perfectly relaxed as body, posture, breathing, vocalization and interpretation are all covered.
