My lessons are aimed at reducing blockages and tension while singing. This approach can be called a form of mindfulness. We focus on experiencing the sound itself. By guiding and controlling less, your voice and body become less tense. The reward you get is producing your most beautiful sound. Singing then becomes not so much what you achieve, as what you let happen and are aware of.
My practice is open to all singers with their different queries and motivations, from beginners to advanced. One of the following scenarios may be familiar to you: in the shower or in the car you sing at the top of your voice, but if someone is listening you stop right away! Or perhaps you sing in a choir and you always feel too much tension while singing. Or you sing for yourself, or in a band but often you don’t enjoy it because you’re trying too hard. Singing lessons can help in all these situations.
I myself have been trained in classical singing, vocalization, improvisation and the Lichtenberg method. In the lessons we focus first on sound production. When this goes well we apply what has been learnt to singing songs. We also work on text comprehension, pronunciation, beathing, emotional and musical interpretation and working with the accompaniment.
